What if kids could ride alone in cars that drove themselves?
You’ve heard of self-driving cars right? People think they’re pretty futuristic but the truth is self-driving cars are no longer a futuristic idea - they’re already on our roads. BMW, Mercedes and Tesla already have cars on the road that can drive themselves to at least some extent and other car manufacturers aren’t far behind. Nissan, Ford, Toyota, General Motors and Audi are all expected to launch self-driving cars before 2020. That’s just over three years away!
The rapid development and adoption of self-driving cars is a great example of an exponentially accelerating technology. We will be exploring these during our Find Your Billion workshops at the end of the month. Check out the cartoon below to learn more about exponentially accelerating technologies and how they’re are changing every aspect of how we live, work and play.
In the meantime let us know how you think the lives of young people would be affected by self-driving cars by posting ideas to our Facebook page, Twitter or Instagram with the hashtag #findyourbillion.
